Overview

This Uganda gorillas and wildlife holiday will take you on a wonderful journey to experience the classic wildlife of the African savannah as well as the incredible gorillas of the rainforest.

You will go to Queen Elizabeth National Park and see wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, hippos, and much more on game drives and boat cruises. In Bwindi, you will trek through the dense forest and steep slopes for your face-to-face encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas.

As a relatively short holiday, this safari manages to show you the absolute highlights of African wildlife. Beyond the wildlife, you will also get to experience the culture of the local Ugandans and learn about their ways and customs.

This is a perfect safari for people whose schedule only allows a few days.

Next comes Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the majestic gorillas that have made Uganda a popular destination among wildlife enthusiasts. Head into the forest after attending a briefing from park authorities and get the chance to see these endangered creatures up close.

Enjoy two stopovers on your return journey from Bwindi to Kampala, one at a traditional drum maker and the other at the Uganda equator. We will drop you off at your accommodation Kampala after the tour is over. Please go through the itinerary below for more information about this tour.

Itinerary

An early breakfast followed by a drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest with a stop-over in Mbarara for lunch. After lunch drive on to Kabale, it's extremely hilly and you will appreciate its scenery. Continue to Bwindi arriving late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Lodge, Gorilla Forest Camp or Mahogany Springs Lodge

Wake up very early for breakfast and continue to the park Headquarters for briefings. This adventures requires a bit of physical fitness because you will move up the steep mountain as you look for these gorillas. Eventually meeting the Mountain Gorillas will turn out a dream come true. You'll watch them do their day to day routine, play, rest and feed their young ones. You are allowed to take photographs as long as you turn the flash of your camera off. You will certainly enjoy this memorable moment with them and this experience is well worth your money and time. This will finally end this adventurous day within Bwindi. Head back to your lodge for your dinner and the night's rest.

After breakfast leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving through the stunning Ishasha region and have an opportunity to see the renowned tree climbing lions. Animals normally move around the lodge and you will have a chance of seeing them as you dine. Have lunch and relax. Queen Elizabeth has several animals including buffaloes, hyenas, monkeys, leopards, lions, antelopes plus elephants among others. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Safari Camp/Mweya Hostel

After an early breakfast prepare for another game drive. Head back to the lodge for Lunch and to Rest as you get ready for the boat cruise in the afternoon on the Kazinga Channel. You will see several hippos playing in the water, crocodiles laze around in the sun, buffaloes and elephants drinking water and various birds flying around and even see other animals a distance away since the boat will be moving slowly. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast drive to Kyambura Gorge to trek chimpanzees. As you move you will see other primates plus bird species and if time allows, you may visit the Maramagamba forest to see bat caves. Head back to the lodge for your lunch and drive back to Kampala.
